The wine making tradition goes back to 15. century as the area was still in hands of Austrian empire.

 

The region name could be translated to "Slovenian central wineyards" and points to a fact that the regional climate conditions provide an unique advantage for growing wine grapes. Winters are cold with snow usually followed by warm long and semi dry summer.

 

The diversity and warm colors wine growers and their friends are also a part of the secret of unique and invigourous nature of places and wines of  "osrednje slovenske gorice" region.
